I could have never imaged the impact 569 seconds would have on me as a black man, as a black artist, and as a black documentarian. The weeks that followed the murder of George Floyd profoundly changed my outlook on the world. Here are images from the time.

In the wake of the murder of George Floyd I took to the streets to document the climate of a country dealing with the epidemic of police brutality, while a global pandemic had us unsure what ‘tomorrow’ had in store for us.

This was my last day protesting in the summer of ‘20. I couldn’t handle the heartbreak anymore. Seeing what I saw and witnessing streets filled with hope and action left its mark.
